Here’s the Red Current with its new marine board full hard top that I built last winter. So, the box (Sport Rack) is a little “SUV-ish” but it will carry our folding chairs and bikes for use at marinas and towns. I decided to get away from the leak prone canvass top and was able to repurpose the existing canvass sides into this new version.

Before embarking on this project I took another look at some used 25’s ; loved them but decided for our purposes the multiple costs of upgrading wasn’t worth it. This final version of our 21' provides much more weather proof living space. Photos in my album.

Outstanding! Would love to see some close-ups on how it meets the cabin, support framing, etc.

Just click on the camera icon in the box where his name is.

Well, we just spent 30 days on the water in our 21' Tug. Went from Port McNeil to Kitimat and back again (trailered from our home on Saturna Island). It was very WET - rained most days - and we were DRY. It would have been very challenging to spend this amount of time in the boat without the extra dry space in the aft. The marine weather forecast was typically "rain ending this evening; showers starting in the morning".... Rain on the west coast is unique. At one anchorage we were boat-bound for 1.5 days!

You two are our new boating heroes! Thirty days on your 21EC- we can only dream for when we have that kind of time. We were going back and forth on whether to add the hardtop and you totally inspired us to go better, not bigger by adding the it, especially since we plan on a lot of boating in Canada once retired. Had no idea there could be so much summer rain there. Would love to know more about how you used the aft covered space to make the time aboard as comfortable as possible. Will hopefully be building our hard top this winter. Thanks for your generosity in sharing photos and answering questions.
