The hatch cover hydraulic lift on my C28 tore out 3 screws where it attaches to the engine compartment. I replaced them with the next size up and after a couple of cycles, they started pulling out again. I don't see any way to replace the screws with nuts and bolts. It doesn't look misaligned so not sure what the problem is.

Not specific to your boat, but I’ve generally fixed issues like these by drilling out the holes and glueing in an oak or other hardwood dowel. Then predrill and reattach. This has worked better for me than just replacing with fatter screws.

Hello,

What year is your boat? We have recently changed the engine hatch ram from a hydraulic ram to an electric ram. You can email me kevinlamont@rangertugs.com.

Thanks,

Also interested! I unpinned mine and strapped it to the side of the engine compartment, but am still looking for a real solution (previous discussion on it was here

I unscrewed it about 1/4 inch and put 5200 in the gap. Seems to be holding.
