I've got a 2020 C28 with the combined hydraulic hatch/trim tab motor. The hatch lifter switch got broken so I replaced it with a Blue Seas model. (Thanks Bob/Bradenton for the instructions.). After replacing the switch, the motor would run but the hatch still wouldn't work - it barely raised an inch or so, and then decided it was done working at all. Subsequent attempts to use the switch blow the fuse instantly. The trim tabs still work fine. I then contacted the factory and managed to source the original switch, and installed that switch, but still the same problem - the fuse blows instantly when i try to use the switch. The trim tabs still work fine and the lights on the same fuse work fine.

I'm trying to figure out what/how to troubleshoot next. My guess is a bad solenoid. This seems like a relatively easy repair, aside from the usual access issues. Has anyone else had this problem before? Any other suggestions? Does anyone know the part number/where to get a replacement solenoid? Thanks.

Selonoids are just coils of wire. If you can seperate it from the circuit you can prove if its good or not by reading the ohms with a meter.
