Head issues, 2008 R25

Hi all, I've been finding this site a gold mine of information. I'm a recent owner of an 2008, R25. I have a bunch of maintenance issues due to the lack of previous owners neglect. This one is about the Wilcox-crittenden, Headmate, toilet.
I have a Sea-Strainer which the toilet pumps flush water from, I believe. However, I cant pump any water into the bowl. I'm told it's just seals which need replacement (told to me during the survey prior to purchase). I didnt think it was a big issue, but now I'm digging into it. It's not obvious and my wife cant pee at 3AM and it's become a major priority to fix. Any thoughts on this, do I completely replace the current toilet or can I fix it? Is the Sea Strainer an issue, even though it seems to be working fine? Thanks in advance!!!!!

There are service kits you can get for this, but they all seem to be discontinued. I did see a note the manufacturer is recommending that you replace the complete head now.

I converted mine to electric using the SeaEra conversion kit by Raritan. A little more than the Jabsco, but my research indicated there was a flaw in the Jabsco design.

We have the electric Dometic MasterFlush toilet (with built in macerator) in our 2009 R-25 Classic which is great. If you are thinking of upgrading toilets I’d recommend it. Or looking into an Air Head Composting Toilet - they get good reviews from Tugnuters on this site.
In the mean time, can’t you just run fresh water from the shower head into the toilet to fill the bowl up? Or is the problem the bowl won’t drain?

Thanks for the replies so far. Yeah, I can flush out to filling with shower is a temp solution. As mentioned, I the rebuild kits seem discontinued so I have to look at a complete replacement. Quite the bummer, but no other solution.

Having priced the Jabasco head, the entire head unit was only slightly more than the valve unit Replacement kit at the last boat show in Seattle. The rep made the case it was way easier to just replace the entire unit if you are not looking to upgrade.

Great feedback. Seems the best route is to replace with a Jabsco Manual flush
Does anyone know if this would be a replacement for my existing Wilcox-crittenden, Headmate manual flush?
