Looking forward to your trip reports, Safe Travels.

Mark:

When you get to Ft Myers and if you come into Legacy Harbour Marina be sure to stop by or call. Enjoy your trip south.

We should be in the FT. Myers area around March 30th so give us a shout also. I would really like to know how the trip with a 29 went.

Hi Mark, Looks like you are geared up and ready for fun trip. Keep us posted on your progress. Let us know how it tows.

Just remember to use Tow/Haul mode and set your exhaust brake on the green light setting so it works only when you brake and doesn't slow you when coasting since we don't have hills to speak of in Florida . I have a 2013 Ram 3500 and that setup is great !

Mark,

I look forward to seeing you when you arrive in Ft. Myers Beach. Give me a call in advance as you approach. I will be glad to give you any assistance you might need when you arrive.

Well day one went well. We had a big storm yesterday and we passed 12 transports and about 25 cars in the ditch along about 60 miles of road near London Ontario We had a nice meal in a Bob Evens just south of Dayton and they said we could stay in their parking lot.. So we are getting ready for bed and can walk to breakfast 🙂
Trailer towed well and getting about 8 miles to the gallon. I'm hoping once my truck gets broken in that will improve a bit .i was boarded at the border seems he was looking for stowaways just came on had me open the cabin.. Didn't check any cupboards or the fridge ? .. Crushing around 60 so maybe if I went slower the milage would be a bit better .. Easy to see when I stopped what was not put away properly as it is all on the floor. 20 channels on the TV and no spinning so channels stay tuned in🙂 .. I really enjoy my bed 🙂
Will check back tomorrow

Permits have not had to come out of the folders yet.. Hit 80 a couple times by mistake Trying to stay around 60 but the boat seems anxious to get there🙂 I notice a big difference in the ride when I am not behind or beside a transport. Just stopped in Lexington for breakfast . All going as planned so far.

It must be nice driving, now that you're in warmer weather and hopefully out of the snow. Do you have a location scoped out for where you'll launch Irish Mist in Ft Myers? and or for storing your trailer? If not and if you have any questions I'd be glad to provide you with my limited local knowledge experiences. Looks like you're about two to three days away with the expected weather to be clear sky's and 80 degrees!

Made it down ok 🙂 spent Sat night in a liquor store parking lot in Fort Myers Beach . Our cocktails on the aft deck drew a few stares and a few visitors 🙂 We launched Sunday morning but had to wait a bit for the tide to come in. It took most of the day between storing the trailer and moving the boat to the Pink Shell from Salty Sams . Monday was lots of cleaning but made time for a cruise up back bay to the bridge at the south end of the island but it was too windy to go out on the gulf so we cruised back . My travel mates enjoyed the trip and are flying home today.
Was a great experiance getting here and I am looking forward to exploring the area
