Hello fellow Tugnuts from Steve and Kevin, just wanted to post a summary of the journey we've experienced this time out.

All high notes, with one (whoops) low note.

We started in Stuart, FL Sept 18th, with the goal of heading to Charleston, SC and then back to Stuart with 6-7 week
timeframe. It has been a wonderful trip!!! On the way north we stayed in the ICW all the way, some really skinny areas around Jekyll Island, but other than that, pretty easy travel. Loved Charleston and Savannah!!! Hope to go back to both.

This is the whoops part, we were making our way back south and as we were passing Beaufort, we got really excited because we saw a Ranger docked there, was too far away to make out any name, or size(looked possibly like a 27 ?, blue hull). About that time someone came on the radio and told us it was about time we slowed down as we obviously missed a very important 'no wake' sign. They didn't identify themselves, so if it was the fellow Tug, we apologize for any wakes we may have caused. It was so far out, and got so excited seeing the tug...our mistake! Would love to know who it was we passed though🙂

After leaving Savannah, we headed to Tybee Island to anchor for the night, great anchoring! This morning ventured outside for the first time on this journey. Felt like we were riding a bucking big bull !!!! Only went offshore about 5 miles, but enjoyed the rocking n rolling!

Continuing our journey south and headed back to ICW, time for some calmer waters.

Needless to say, we are loving our tug and think this is one of the best decisions we've ever made. Look forward to many many more of these great adventures.

Hi Steve and Kevin, Thanks for the great post. It is good to hear trip reports especially from fellow Texans. Are you planning to leave your R31 in Florida? Or you bringing her back to Texas? If so where will you keep her.

Hi Willie and Herb! Thanks for your note. As of now, we do plan to keep the boat in Florida. Looking forward to someday making the gulf coast trip all the way to South Padre, will time it when you're there🙂 Looking forward to meeting you, was fun meeting your neighbors last time we were there

Hi Steve and Kevin:

Thanks for your trip notes, they brought back fond memories of our cruising these waters. If you'll be heading over to the February Ranger Tug Rendezvous, on Florida's west coast, Lisa and I look forward to meeting you.

Jim

Maybe you didn't miss a no-wake sign.
If you spend any time in one area watch the commercial boats going by. They know exactly what they are doing and they go quite a bit faster than you might expect. Also notice that the folks calling you to whine about your wake won't mess with them.

Good morning, Jim we are planning to come to the west coast Florida gathering, so look forward to meeting you and Lisa.

And thanks for those words on the wake thing. We were SO far away from the docks, honestly don't know how we caused even a ripple🙂 And your are right on the commercial boats, we've been rocked a lot from them!

Appreciate all the comments!
