Hi, I am looking into installing a diesel cabin heater in our 2011 R-27. Has anyone installed one and if so, have some photos of the mounting and venting locations?

thanks and happy holidays,
Brendan

Following. 25SC.

I did a webasto tsl17 install on my r27. This is a water based heater. Stopped the engine circuit to the hot water and cabin heater and looped the two into it. Mounted to the inside of engine room at the waste tank wall, reservoir in fish tank cavity, exhaust at rear. Used second heat exchanger to run engine heat into webasto water circuit. No I have heat and hot water without engine running, especially when on trailer where engine will not work

No pictures, but I installed my Wabasto behind the sink, ran hoses to forward stateroom, main salon, and head. A diesel outlet was already installed in the tank, pump unit placed near tank. Depending on where you are cruising and how warm you like, may want to consider the 3000 model.

My after factory install is similar to Alice J. My unit is behind the stove and pump is below stove accessed by door below stove. Pickup line for fuel runs to the dedicated outlet in fuel tank. Electric supply comes right off of house batteries with a two fuse holder. Sorry no pictures.

Thank you all for your help. We now have heat in the R27!

I installed the forced air diesel heater behind the stove, there was a ton of unused space back there. The heat was ducted to a vent in the head and one just below the countertop, above the cabinet next to the fridge. As stated by others, there was an existing tap on the fuel tank that was easy to couple to. I ran semi-flexible metal line from the tank to the fuel pump/filter and on to the heater. The exhaust pipe was wrapped with insulating wrap and the stainless exhaust port mounted as high as possible, above the four drain fittings on the starboard side.

The installation had some challenges, but went smoothly. Now we can be cozy as we wait out this quarantine.

stay healthy,
Brendan

Glad you got it figured out, installed, and running. A good dource of dry heat makes the cabin downright pleasant on a wet, cold day.
