Heater switches on the C 30 Sedan

I'm a new owner, so dumb question. I see switches at the helm named heater. What do these switches control?
 
They are for the heater which runs off the hot engine coolant. If you have a/c, you also have reverse heat available, but the switches you are asking about have nothing to do with that.
 
Thanks kip. So the reverse ac system ( like a heat pump I assume) is not integrated with heat coming from closed loop engine heat?
 
You are correct. The closed system heat only comes from warmed engine coolant and does a great job heating the boat cabin while you are under way. Congratulations on your new boat, keep your questions coming......you'll get all the help you want here on Tugnuts.

Yes, to access the reverse heat, you need to go into the "thermostat/controller" settings. If you haven't already, get the book out or go online to read how and what each setting does. There's a lot of capability and customization in the settings. Fan speeds, defrost, dehumidification, heat, cool, etc. Good to know how.
