I have a 2014 R31 with a D4 300. All batteries show 13 volts...house, starter and thrusters.

I'm on the hard, trying to flush the engine with antifreeze. I turn on the engine battery but the V0lvo Penta display doesn't light up and the start button gives me two red flashes......then two red flashes.

What am I missing??? Is the ignition locked out somehow?

Is the throttle/shift lever in neutral? Do you have power to other devices?

Shifter is in neutral but no lights on the binnacle nor the Volvo Penta display at the helm.

Normally when I turn on the battery switch, the displays light up and the binnacle (shifter assembly) lights up with green back lighting.

At this point none of that is happening

Every once in awhile I have to wave my key fob in front of the sensor on my dash. That engages the display, etc..

That did it...waved the fob and voila! Everything lit up and I attempted to start it

HOWEVER.....

Now the control panel is telling me I have an ECV error....contact a Volvo technician....

That sometimes happens for no good reason. Shut everything off and turn the batteries off and then turn everything back on. Fired up and see if the code comes back. Good luck!, Bobby

Have you replaced your fuel filters recently? If so, there is a missing step in the instructions. It does not state that you need to bleed the system after replacement. Failure to do so causes air bubbles to remain in your fuel lines causing (Guess what) ECV valve to go into error mode. Bleed the fuel lines at fuel filter, reset system as described earlier, and see what happens.
