I'm not sure if this is an appropriate subject here, but my instinct is to share the information. I doubt that it's widely known that a TowBoatUS captain drowned in the early hours of January 18 when his 21-foot boat capsized while towing a 47-foot sailboat. His body was recovered the next afternoon. This occurred in the Pungo River near Belhaven, NC along the ICW (part of the Great Loop, I believe). The man was a stranger to me, although we might have crossed paths on the water, but he seems to have been a guy who was inclined to lend a hand. According to his obituary (http://www.paulfuneralhome.com/obitlink?obit_id=2062703) he was also an assistant chief of the local volunteer fire department. He left behind a wife and three children who could probably use some help from some of the boaters he would have helped if they asked. If you want to help, it's Cleary Family Fund, c/o Southern Bank & Trust, P.O. Box 87, Belhaven, NC 27810. My apologies if I'm out of line using this forum this way.
