Can anyone tell me where the HID number is located on my R-27?

Thanks

On my r27 it is located at the edge of the storage area where the battery switches are located. Look at the lip that matches with the cover just left to the door. This is for a diesel classic version 2016

Huh. I thought the HID/HIN was required to be on the outside, upper, starboard, corner of the transom, since like the 70's, or something. At least that's where they've all been located on every boat I've ever owned, including my Ranger Tug. Interesting.

Todd

Todd you are correct outside starboard side visible from outside, since 1972 as I recall. Then in the mid 1980's was required to have two. One in the location described and a second one hidden in side the vessel. If you have trouble finding your HIN number just ask the person that washes and waxes the boat!
Just kidding! Bob

Yes, I also have my HID embossed as Bob has describes. I also have it in my boat's document folder, along with every conceivable Serial numbers associated with all the various devices installed on the boat.

Next time on the boat I will endeavor to find the 2nd HID inside... as I was unaware there should be two. 😱

I'm not finding it anywhere.
Can anyone post a photo please?

Just for your inf:
The HIN is required on all watercraft by federal law, is a 12 character number placed on the boat one in view and one out of view. The first 3 characters is the manufacturers ID code, the next 5 characters is the boats serial number, the last 4 characters is the date of manufacture and the model year.
My HID is US FMLT2129K809.
Built in the U.S. by Fluid Motions serial number T2129 built November 2008 for model year 2009
Just some bar room tid-bits. Bob

For my previous 2018 R27/OB: one is under raw water wash down pump and the other above the U-bolt on transom's starboard stern face.

Thanks a bunch! I will look and reply back.

I've scoured the generator area and both port / stbd. hatch areas, and the transom / swim platform areas. I see nothing, to quote Sgt Schultz.

Maybe, since this is the Ask the Ranger Tug place, someone from RT could weigh in with an answer?

Good info, Bob. Thanks.

It seems RT does not monitor the "Ask the Ranger Factory" forum.
I'll ask my dealer, he will ask the Factory, the Factory will give him an answer, he will reply to me. I will look, might find it, might not.

Seems like a silly way to get a simple question answered.
Given all the other QA issues I have, I will not be surprised they forgot to apply the HID!

Jeff. Sorry that your having so many problems with your boat! From hull I'd number, speed, electric problems, ect. Boats are a lot like women, they are expensive, every one else's looks prettier, faster and have less problems! But just like women - there is no perfect boat! So enjoy your boat, I know you spent a lot of hard earned money to acquire it! Bob

That's exactly what I tell my friends, Bob. I've got a new girlfriend and she takes all of my time and money!
I love my boat. I do. But as fabulous as everyone says RT is with customer service, they are remarkably silent when it comes to answering very simple questions.

Jeff I would recommend a phone call, e-mail or some other type of communication with the factory to have your questions answered. That's what I do and have never been disappointed! This forum while as much as I like it, is great for getting info and opinions from other owners but when I want a answer from the factory I communicate directly with them. Bob

Bob,
Can you give me an email address to ask them?
The website just has the form to ask about interest in a boat.

Can also be found in their signature when they reply to someone on this forum, or you can call the factory at (253) 839-5213
