Looking to buy R27
Found this wide open storage under the oven after removing the basket and lift out panels. Is there a reason why we couldn’t/wouldn’t use this for dry storage?

Our R29 has similar spaces under the cabinets. We have used that space for additional dry goods packaged in waterproof containers (dog food) and beverages. The space has stayed dry so it may not be necessary to store in waterproof containers. The drawback is that you have to move whatever is on top of it to access the space. But for the extra items that you might not need until halfway through a long cruise it works well.

Thanks for the input.

I found some hidden storage on our boat too. Under the helm seat on the R27 OB without AC, there is the area I believe is used for the compressor. On ours there was just the inline fan for the defrost mounted in there, so I had to move that. Next I installed a thin sheet of plywood to make sure nothing fell over near the diesel heater. I made sure to leave room for ventilation for the defrost fan and microwave. And then I installed a hatch on the side facing the table. I was super nervous cutting such a large hole in the beautiful fiberglass but I am glad I did it.
