We just took delivery of our R 27, 2024 model year. Is there a way to check the level of the holding tank. I know there is no gauge for this, but maybe there is a visual way to have a look see.

There's a hole cut in the fiberglass. Lift up the step in the v-berth. Stick a flashlight in there and look aft. You'll see it. It's like, 4 inches.
The problem is... that visual only shows you the very top of the tank. So you won't see anything until the level of the tank is 3/4's full or more.

I installed a sensor on the side of the black water tank about 2 inches from the top through the access hole located under the step. I used the 12v going to the shower pump out as a power source. Then installed a tiny LED above the toilet flush switch. The most difficult part was running the wire from the bilge area to the sink.
It's nice to have a heads-up (pun intended) that the tank is almost full.
