In all seriousness, it’s worth pointing out that there *are* others ways to test this directly 🙂
For a few bucks you can buy test strips that tell you whether the water is fresh or salt. They’re one-time use and work a lot like pH strips, if you’ve ever used those. The simple ones just tell you if it’s saltwater above a certain threshold (more of a binary reading) the nicer ones will tell you concentration of salt. They’re designed for saltwater swimming pools but work great for boating! About $10 or so from Amazon or you can buy them at a local pool supply store usually.
I had them on my sailboat mostly to check bilge water; they come in handy mostly for that and other tests of water intrusion / leaks.
