Also, you very likely have fresh water heads. there's one way to be sure, but i don't suggest it !! (LOL)

In all seriousness, it’s worth pointing out that there *are* others ways to test this directly 🙂

For a few bucks you can buy test strips that tell you whether the water is fresh or salt. They’re one-time use and work a lot like pH strips, if you’ve ever used those. The simple ones just tell you if it’s saltwater above a certain threshold (more of a binary reading) the nicer ones will tell you concentration of salt. They’re designed for saltwater swimming pools but work great for boating! About $10 or so from Amazon or you can buy them at a local pool supply store usually.

I had them on my sailboat mostly to check bilge water; they come in handy mostly for that and other tests of water intrusion / leaks.

My 2021 doesn’t have this? Can the dealer add it?

Hi Brian! We have done a revision on the tank system and and instead included an access point where the waste tank level can be physically seen. This is found under the removable vberth entry step on the FWD wall.

The peep hole is a fail proof idea, but the shop that installed the tank sensor for me said it was super easy. They ended up pulling the quarter berth forward bulkhead down and all the tank connections where easily accessible. And best of all all the wiring for the gauge was installed at the factory. The tank even had the fitting. No brainer to have it done. I posted a pic in my album.

I changed my raw water toilet to fresh water flush on my 2021 R27OB with the following parts.
Raritan conversion #162LS012, and also added a Raritan Smart Toilet flush controller # STCA and a stick on outside tank sensor #503512 which works with the STC. The STC has a light when full indicator also shuts down the 2 normal flushes when full but leaves the ability to flush and fill with the other 2 option buttons.
