My horn will honk once, but not twice. It won't honk again once, unless it rests for a few minutes. I know there are some horn threads, but I'm hoping that Andrew may have a new, easy solution.

Maybe it is just a courteous horn.

How is the charge on your battery? My horn seems to want a full charge on the battery, which is kind of shaky for an emergency device. I have not had a chance to investigate it further.

Connections, connections, connections. Either at the horn end or the push button part or the battery. Clean thoroughly and put protectant on there. Just won't pass current in a consistent manner!!

My horn has always functioned perfectly. Sometimes when I did not want it to. One night while sleeping over at the Marina I got up about 2:00am to go to head and reached up to turn on the cabin lights (my boat came with 3 way type switches located by back door and at helm directly by horn switch. Now take a guess what I did. Horn has never been louder and the blast did not immediately register in my half asleep mind. I started to see several lights come on several other boats at marina. Since I did not yet have my cabin light on I decided to leave it off and let everyone guess who did it. I think it worked because nobody ever thanked me for suchg a timely wakeup call. I doubt that anyone would have believed such a loud blast could come from such a small boat.

Since there are no other Tugnuts at this marina maybe they still do not know.

Ongarro does have a troubleshooting checklist they had sent me. Pretty basic but really takes some tweaking with the horn to usually fix this. Let me know if you still have the issue and I can send this diagram directly to you. The file was too large for me to post it on this site. You can always reach me directly at andrewcustis@rangertugs.com.

Sorry for the delay!

It may seem redundant, but if you want your horn to blow reliably, blow it regularly...
There is nothing like use to keep an electromechanical device useable...
