Hot water tank maintenance question

Asking Ranger Tugs for advice...

On my R25 I have a hot water tank located in the forward section of the starboard side cockpit locker. There appears to be an outlet spigot near the bottom of the tank. Is this meant for draining the tank ? Also, are there anodes that need replacing now and then ?

Can you advise on any necessary periodic maintenance that should be done for prolonging the useful life of this tank ? Thanks...
 
Hello Barry,

No anode on the hot water tank. The valve you are referring to is certainly a drain and most commonly used to winterize the system. I would suggest reading up on how to disinfect your water tank rather than how to clean out your hot water heater. Any questions direct for the factory, don't hesitate to email us directly.
