How can I watch Amazon Prime video on my 2017 R29 Majestic TV?
I have an Apple Lightning to Digital AV HDMI adapter that I hard wire from Apple iPhone 14 and it works for Utube videos. Switch it to Prime Video and Jeff Bezos puts an error message on my phone. I believe it used to work three years ago. Same issue happens at my home Samsung smart Tv, yet I can get Amazon video on that tv by logging straight onto Internet. It is a true Apple adapter and not a knock off. Quality HDMI cable is used.

It sounds like DRM is kicking in with the cable connected. You can probably watch Prime just fine on the phone till you connect the cable, Right? I ran into that with an old DVD recorder. Once the service saw an output connection then they cut the feed.

I put a 'fire-stick' on the TV... hot-spot from the phone, then log-in on the fire-stick

You don’t mention where you were when this was tried. Many of the steaming apps, like Amazon, do not work outside the US. We are often in Canada cruising and cannot access many of the steaming services due to contractual issues. Otherwise, I agree with John it is likely a DRM issue related to using a cable.

Boat Tv is Anacortes and home Tv is Camano Island, WA. Same issue both places. So I am in US. I am going to try fire stick, it is worth trying.

Yes, try the Fire Stick. Worth a shot.

I had the same problem. It is the DRM on the iPhone. I downloaded any Prime content to my laptop and watched it from there. Or I used my phone and a hotspot and streamed from the laptop.

Fire stick does the trick! I can now see Amazon video on my 2017 Majestic TV.

Fire stick on Amazon Black Friday $18. Needs 110v, no outlet near tv. Cord reaches to bathroom head outlet.

On Amazon you can find some flat back 12v dual USB outlets, just put double sided tape on the back of the outlet and stick it to the back of the tv near the inputs. Then just connect the power wires into the 12v wires that supply power to the TV, and plug the fire stick into the USB port and everything is self contained. I have this solution working on both TVs in my C30

Thanks FUL-O-Fish ---- I just realized you don't need to buy additional usb outlet. Just plug the USB wire that goes to charger to the TV USB port. No charger needed. This is great because I don't have 110v outlet near TV. I have five 110v outlets on boat but none near TV.

You are lucky then, the internal USB on the TVs I have didn't output enough current to allow the fire sticks to operate completely, I received messages on-screen stating that they required additional power.

I use a Firestick with my 19" Majestic TV. It's powered by USB only, however you need the correct cable which contains a small in-line battery. Works great, search amazon for 'Made for Amazon, USB Power Cable'.

A prior owner had rigged a power extension from an Amazon Firestick that’s plugged in to one of the HDMI ports, around out to get power from the helm station cigarette lighter. An unsightly solution, in my view. So I replaced the helm-station cigarette lighter with an inexpensive and same-sized dual USB power port, and wired another to it on the inside of the stateroom cabinet. Voila! I now have the Amazon Firestick powered by the 12 volt power supply inside the back of the stateroom cabinet, plus two extra USB ports at the helm station. The Firestick HDMI is plugged directly into the the Majestic TV, and I can control the whole she-bang from the Firestick remote.

I haven’t been able to reach Amazon Prime (or other streaming services) while in Canadian waters, but I’ve heretofore thought that was because cell service was spotty for me on AT&T out among the San Juan and Gulf Islands.

Does anyone know if streaming services are also inaccessible via Starlink (instead of by cell phone) while in Canadian waters (as I’m considering getting a Starlink for my “Grand BC Tour” next year)?
