We have a case of 2foot itis.

Our ‘24 R27 was measured by our marina at 34’4, which barely fit into our slip. If it were 3inches longer we would have been cooked and would have lost our slip. We’ve got a Rocna anchor which extends further forward than stock but otherwise as stock.

Has anyone had their R29 measured - EVERYTHING included including the bow spritz? I’m really curious if it’s longer than a motor-up R27.

My R27 measured a full foot longer than FMs specs say (albeit a few inches from the anchor) so I’m hoping to understand if a R29 will likely be allowed in my current slip or not. A bigger slip would be a significant problem to get at our marina, much worse than 2ft itis!

Thanks in advance!

My 2017 R29 is exactly 34 ft with dingy. Where are you located at?

Thank you - we are in Vancouver BC.
Your 34 feet includes the bow spritz, correct?
I’m surprised it’s not longer than that with the dinghy but this is great information. Thank you.

I claim 35' for my 2011 R29. That includes the dinghy mounted on the swim platform. The hull is 29', the swim platform another 2' plus, then you have the dinghy and anchor. I'm probably closer to 34', but when cruising I don't want to be jammed into a space on a T head or face dock. Our slips are by the slip length. Mine happens to be 35'

Thanks - in my case if the marina measures it at over 34’6, it’s not allowed in my slip. My R27 came in just 2 inches shy so I’m cautious!

I have a Cutwater 30, different boat, but same issues. We have a 30' mooring in Avalon, that allows Max 30'11.99" We are in the process of cutting and hinging the swimstep to make the boat legal, as we plan on having this boat on this mooring for a long time. More to come on this with Pix and the process as this develops. Our swimstep is off for now while it's getting cut and hinged. We will haul in the next couple weeks and remount with new brackets, and hardware. Ladder was already moved to the middle aft of the swimstep, and we will take 2 small fenders off to accomodate. More to come......

All these people wish they had a smaller boat!!!! Or justification for diesel inboard??? I had a ski boat where I stored it diagonally across a two car garage. The same boat in another garage, i manually turned the double axle boat trailer 180 deg to let the trailer tug hang out an already existing garage wall vent so it could fit.

I used to store a trailer boat in my garage, the swim step fit perfectly inside a small gap between the furnace and water heater! 😀
