How much does an R25 really weigh?

The specs on the website say that an R25 dry weight is 6500 pounds Does that include the Yamaha 250?

Not the same boat at all but our R-25 Classic had a published dry weight of 5,700 pounds. With upgrades, spares, minimal amounts of fuel + fresh water + black water plus safety gear, tools, dinghy with motor and our normal cruising equipment it consistently weighted in at between 7,600 to 7,800 pounds.
Our current C-28 equipped for cruising is coming in at 1,700 to 2,080 pounds over its published 8,000 pound dry weight.
Don’t trust the published dry weights for real world total weight when sizing trailer towing or boat lifts.

Perhaps those finding this thread of interest could comment on my related questions: Two days from now we will own a 2022 C248. The online marketing specs for the 248 lists displacement as 6200#. An (undated) on-line C24 owner's manual lists displacement at 4900#. The owner's manual on this 2022 248 lists displacement at 4,900#. These weights, if its mentioned, are stated as dry weights with the engine.
1. Does this reflect a 1300# change in displacement when the 248 began being built?
2. And/or does this reflect a more realistic attempt by FM to reflect actual displacement?
3. And/or does this reflect FM shifting to selling C24's more fully equipped, thus 'stock' displacement is increased?
4. Or are these numbers more like comparing apples & oranges?

Why do I care? There is an apparent 'safety limit' of 1400# for this boat. But what displacement is assumed when calculating that 1400# limit? And displacement, as equipped and used, does inform safe anchor and rode choices. Plus I'm just curious. 😎

My 2018 C24 weighed 7705 with aluminum double axle trailer on certified scales. The boat had 1/4 tank of fuel, no water and little gear. On LOVES scales it was about 5 1/2 percent less. Not sure of trailer weight but I’m guessing around 1300 lbs.

The approximate trailer weight should be on the trailer data plate near the front of the trailer. The data plate also includes the trailers model number and VIN.
On our tandem axle trailer for the R-25 Classic the Tuff brand trailer weight on scales was 2,000 pound plus or minus 50 pounds. On our triple axle EZ Loader for the C-28 the trailer is 2,500 pounds plus or minus 50 pounds. Both trailers had spares and were electric over hydraulic.
The weights I gave earlier did not include the trailer weight. Towed weight on trailer for the R-25 Classic was between 9,600 and 9,850 pounds. For the C-28 towed weight on trailer is between 12,200 and about 12,580 pounds..

I went by Ventures website and the GVWR which is 8525 and they list trailer capacity which is 7225. I subtracted and came up with trailer weight of 1300. I don’t have a spare tire mounted to the trailer. I’m in Md now and my trailer is in Florida.

Well, I never did get a reply from the factory but my dealer told me that the dry weight does include the outboard.
Now I can do the math for the add-on weight.

Let me try again and be more direct. The factory published dry weight for your boat is fiction. IT SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED. Adding weight to a wildly inaccurate made up number is meaningless.
AS DELIVERED YOUR BOAT WILL MOST LIKELY BE SUBSTANTIALLY HEAVIER THAN ITS PUBLISHED DRY WEIGHT. If you rely on that published dry weight for sizing a boat lift, trailer capacity or tow vehicle requirement you could be putting yourself and your family in grave danger!

I do appreciate your concern for our safety This is not my first boat or rodeo. Our R25 is being kept on a 12K lift in my back yard so I think I am relatively safe as my last boat's dry weight was more, plus it held 1 and a half times more gas. I would also think my delivery manager would have a pretty good idea as he is lifting these boats off 18-wheelers and putting them on trailers and in the water regularly.

Thanks for the clarification. Can’t imagine how you would have a problem on a 12,000 pound rated lift even with all tanks full.
I was afraid you believed the R-25 OB published 6,500 pound dry weight, assumed 1,000 pounds for their trailer weight and were expecting to pull it safely with a Toyota 4Runner rated to tow 7,500 pounds. There have been a number of folks over the past decade posting on this forum expecting to be able to do just that!
