How to Disconnect Depthsounder

I want to power up the Garmin MFD on our 2017 R-27 Classic while the boat is on the trailer. How and where do I disconnect the depth sounder transducer so that I will not damage it? I RECEIVED AN ANSWER FROM GARMIN.

Unplug it from the 7612. Mosttranducers installed in Rangers are P79 transducers 600W. This is from Garmin ( A normal 500w or less transducer should not have any issues when running out of the water. A higher powered transducer, (1KW) or larger, may have the potential of having issues as they normally use water to help cool them down when operating for long periods of time).If you are planning on leaving it on for a long periods time that may be a good idea to unplug it. If you are just going to do an update or messing around setting up routes or just getting aquatinted with the unit while on the trailer which I do all the time I don't think you will have any issues with burning it out.
 
I usually just go to the sonar menu and turn sonar transmit to OFF. Bob
