I could not find the previous thread on how to lower the TV in the main cabin. Any suggestions?

If it is like the bracket in our R-29, push the tv "Up" a little to relieve the tension on the silver pin. Push the silver pin until it gets to the slot that allows the TV to come down. The slot has a narrow band of error.....it needs to be aligned perfectly for the TV to release. If you can get your head up there and see how it works, it becomes much easier next time.... 🙂

I hope that helps.

Yep, what Rocky said. I’d just add to be careful with your fingers. Releasing ours the first few times was a real trick and I pinched my fingers a couple times. Ouch! The difficulty lessens over a few uses though and now it’s easy.

Yup, what they both said. I would only change the word "pin" (connotes a rather small thing to look for) to "rod" about 7" long with a diameter of 3/8" or so. It is positioned horizontally beam-wise in the bracket. HTH, Gary

The words written earlier in this thread well-describe the latch rod/pin, but a picture is worth a thousand words. If any of the responders is at their boat, a quick picture may help. I’m 750 miles from my boat or I would post a photo.

I have had the rod/pin on my TV mount jam a few times. If that is happening in this case it would be most confusing and frustrating. The only advice I can offer if the rod/pin seems to be jammed is to lubricate the rod/pin and gently rock the bracket while pushing on the rod/pin until it frees up. To help identify the rod/pin, it transits through a spring that returns the rod/pin to the “lock” position when the TV is finished moving to the UP or DOWN position. There, more words. A picture would give them context.

MSU1966, if you can determine the maker of the bracket, a manual for it may be found online.

Thanks guys for the great advice. I just got a new Ranger Tug 31S and spent our first night aboard. Couldn’t figure out how to lower the main cabin TV, but once i read these posts……all good new! Off to Poulsbo this morning. Capt. Norm

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who couldn’t figure this out! Fortunately, when I tried to do it the first time there was an R-31 owner nearby and I asked him.
