Could some-one please tell me how to pull out the fridge in my 2008 R25 classic.
I don't see any screws to remove.
I can tilt the top out a centimetre, but the bottom won't move. Is it all about brute force and ignorance?
Is it necessary or a good idea to remove the door ? (and I can't seem to do that either!).
Thanks in advance.
Ken

Hi Ken.

I have removed fridge on our R25 classic several times to gain access or just make life somewhat easier when accomplishing other tasks in that area. On our MY '09 the unit is held in with four screws (two on each side) and they are located under the plastic button inserts which pop out. In addition, you must break the black silicon seal around the outside edge of the unit. Then you should be able to gently "wiggle" it from side to side while pulling outward. The distance between the unit and sides of fiberglass cutout is measured in millimeters; therefore, not much room for a rocking motion. Also, I found it does help to remove the door to (a) take some of the weigh off of the unit and (b) gives you a little more clearance once the unit clears the mounting location (the aisle becomes very narrow). Lastly, do not forget to disconnect the DC wires running into the unit (you have to clear the mounting location as the wires are in the back).

Hope this helps a little.

While th fridge can be removed from its location I don’t see any easy way to remove it from the boat if needed. The unit is too big to fit thru the door. A window frame would need to be removed to juggle it outside if a replacement is ever needed. This is on a r27 2016 model

On our 2008, I took out the heater core, under the helm floor. There is an opening to the back of the fridge. I can see two bolts in the bottom rail of the fridge. The opening was 1/3 closed by rough fiberglass. I wanted to have the vacuum there when I cut the fiberglass out. Good luck.

I had to remove the cabin door and frame on my 2008 R25 in order to get the refer out of the boat. It needed just that little amount to clear.

Even if you remove the door off the refrigerator, it still won't fit out of the cabin?

Mine didn't even with the door off.Taking off the door wasn't too bad - I didn't even have to replace the seal.

Thank-you for the responses, but I am no further ahead (2008 R25).
There are no screws that I can find, not hiding behind plastic caps or anywhere.
Looking under the fridge, it is on little rubber legs which sit on rails, and the one towards the bow isn't about to move!
Removing the door is also a bust! The Norcold web site says to unscrew the pin in the top hinge, but it cannot be unscrewed, it appears to be a solid post and levering the hinge up with more force than I want to use, does not liberate the door, just threatens to break the hinge!
Any further suggestions before I give up, would be welcome.

Ken, sorry it did not work out. When I posted how I went about removal of our fridge made the assumption (bad to do) you had a Nova Kool which is what our R25 classic came standard with.

Ah, thank-you Mike and Knotflying,
Now I at least understand why there are no screws.
Different fridges - Norcold vs NovaKool!
Perhaps Andrew can help.
If not, I guess I'm screwed!
