Subject: How to rescind zero contrast setting on Fusion radio ?

I have the Fusion radio 755 on my 2019 R29 CB. The other day when getting to sleep on the boat I had left the radio on with its display glaring at me. Rather than placing the rubber cover over the radio or turning it off, I instead reduced the display contrast to zero to blacken the screen.... it worked wonderfully.

My problem now is that when turn the radio on it first displays its FUSION emblem and "loading..." and then the screen goes black and nothing can be seen.

How on earth do I now reset the contrast setting to lighten up the screen display... Pressing the Menu button does nothing for me as I simply cannot view anything.

This has to be a real issue for FUSION.

Now I can operate the FUSION radio on my Garmin Chart plotter, so not all is lost. However, cannot change contrast for the radio on the Chart plotter.

I removed to two radio fuses (a 3A and a 10A) for about 60 seconds and then replaced them hoping this would do some sort of cold reboot for the radio.... but no luck... the screen is still totally black.

The manual indicates to reset the radio setting press & hold the power button for 6 seconds... have not tried this yet.

A similar issue can occur on the Garmin Auto pilot's controller screen.... but by pressing the power button three time will reset the display contrast to full.... The FUSION radio needs a similar feature IMO.

So RT, what is the solution to my dilemma here ?

Try looking at from an angle. The more black it is the sharper the angle the light is twisted by the LCD. You may need to look at from a very flat (relative to the screen face) to see anything. Try looking at it from all sides. You may be able to see enough to change the setting.

It's been a while since I did it, but try pushing the "lightbulb" icon button on the front panel once and then use the tuning dial to raise and lower brightness.

Thanks.... I tried this and could not see anything on the blacked out screen.

I also tried the 6 seconds press and hold to RESET the radio.... this also achieved nothing.

Thanks... I will try that later today,,,, With these suggestions presumably there's hope I can get this rather stupid thing (that is, my stupid thing of reducing Contrast to zero) resolved.

As it turns out Kenny Marrs gave me the same instructions..... and IT WORKED. Thank you very much. 😀 The Volume knob needs to be rotated clockwise using this method.
