Are the stern cleats on the swimstep strong enough for towing a tube from an R23? (with a bridle to go around the outboard)

I've seen mention of using the tie-down eyes, but they are quite low - under the swimstep on the R23, which is not good for towing anything in the water 🙂

Otherwise I assume I'll have to install towing eyes on the transom with backing plates?

Or can I use the stern cleats on the port/starboard sides of the R23? (I'd need a longer bridle)

Thanks!
jason.

Ski tow pole !!!!!! maybe if R-23 has one that is.

No ski tow pole on the 23. I would imagine the stern cleats would be strong enough to tow the tube you are asking about, especially if you are using a bridal... but I don't know that for sure.

$900 for there Yamaha F300.... Oucheee

Yeah...my F200 needs the $700 XL model

I'll be buying a new anchor first before I worry about towing riders!

Do you have a kicker motor? If so, would the motor or tie-rod present a problem?
