Does anybody have a good remedy for protecting the hull from rock chips while towing? Longer mud flaps? Wrap the hull in plastic? Rock guards on trailer? Or....

Or, don’t worry about it. We towed our Tug from Pensacola to Key West and back on some of the worst “roads” you can imagine. The only issue we had was bugs on the windows. No worries.
Cheers

The section between the wheels of a car usually do not agitate road debris. Only behind the wheels would you need some protection. Good mudflaps will do. And even that area is somewhat obscured by the trailer structure. Take a flash light and shine from the wheels towards the trailer to see what I mean

We have towed about 5,500 miles so far in 3 season and I haven’t seen any noticeable rock chips on our R25 Classic’s hull. Not towing on gravel or dirt roads - just paved roads from interstates to city streets. Only have the stock mudflats on the truck.

Corrected the post. Darn spell checkers when one is in a hurry

Would be the best way to protect a boat from stone chips when towing. ... with chips ( he has no mudflaps on ute ) so back to the paintshop for a hull respray.
