Has anyone tried this? It sounds too good to be true but I'm always looking for the easy solution.

The discussions I've seen have been very skeptical, e.g., in this thread: https://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-forum/1044852-ultrasonic-anti-fowling-does-work.html

The logic there seems generally sound, namely, that if it were true, then we (or boat builders) would know. On the more positive side, it might be an "it depends" (on location etc) situation.
