While at the dock, shore power plugged in, engine off, engine and thruster batteries off, water pump off. House battery on to keep the fridge on. Only thing running is the fridge that I’m aware of but every few minutes a vibrating/pump noise comes on for a couple of seconds. Somewhere down low, but I can’t figure out exactly where. It’s killing me - what could it be?
I own an airstream trailer and there’s a leak somewhere in the plumbing so occasionally with the fresh water pump on I’ll hear it kick on randomly to add pressure to the system, but the fresh water pump is off when I hear this, it happens super often and only for 1-2 seconds at a time.
Anyone have any idea what it could be?

Bilge pumps cycle every 2 minutes. Look at the bilge pump switch and you’ll see the led flash briefly.

I think I have two bilge switches at the helm, but neither is on. Is that the location you’re saying I’ll see the lights flash? Is the 2 min cycle time normal for the boat? Would it still happen if house battery was turned off, I’m assuming no? Thanks so much for the quick answer!

While I’m at it, how do you get the faucet at the stern to work? I couldn’t figure that out today either. (Slowly learning all the parts of the boat! 🙂

The bilge pumps have two power supplies, one at the switch you are referring to for manual operation. The second power supply is fused and is for the auto function. It has an automatic float switch, the pump powers up and if it senses resistance (water) it will keep running until it pumps dry. If there's no water, it spins briefly and shuts down. Every two minutes as shontm stated.

Thanks so much, all! This is incredibly helpful. So reading between the lines, this is normal and not something to worry about 🙂 I'm four total trips thus far since getting my boat, so slowly learning the ropes. Since I purchased through a brokerage I did not get the ranger tug factory delivery so I'm relying on all of you and your super helpful posts (and you tube videos in the case of Sea Nest and Channel Surfing!) as well as a few new friends who have taken me out to build my knowledge base.
