Hurricane Preparation

It looks like we might be in for a rough time next week with hurricane Erika (only a cat 1 I hope) coming our way. I would like to know what type of preparation I should do. Gratitude will be in our driveway full of fuel and the water tank will be full. All the canvas will be off except the white mesh windshield cover, it's good for at least 80 MPH (I know, way to fast) and I will have all three tiedowns attached. I think I'll take off the Rocna and tie the chain to the trailer too. Any other ideas? Thanks

Do you have a way to tie-down the trailer to your driveway/pad? Seems like a good precaution.

For Sandy and Irene I pulled the boat and brought it to high ground. I put it in a spot away from tree limbs etc.

For those of us who have no easy or quick way to haul up on the hard, what precautions should I take while tied up to a floating dock? Extra lines perhaps? Thanks.

Thank you the great ideas. Dale, I was going to use two large corkscrews on the port side and run two more straps to the truck tie-downs on the starboard side, that would keep the trailer from moving back and forth. Mike, we don't have any large trees near our driveway but thing can can fly around if it gets really bad so you just never know. Boatagain, I would double up all the lines, remove your bimini and all lose equipment. Not sure if you should leave the shore power connected or not. Maybe someone can chime in on the shore power issue. Super glad this storm is gone but we have a better idea what to do next time.
