Subject: I get a stabbing pain in my calf muscle when at the helm

Yes, this may sound crazy, but it's a real problem for me.

The helm seat back/forward adjustment lever sticks out some 2 inches. This darn black covered spike-like rod really gets in my way at times and in fact will kind of impale itself into my calf muscles at times and it's quite painful.

I intend to cut this projecting lever off with my trusty hack saw. I will retrieve the black plastic end cover and place it on the end of the remaining rod. Is this rod secured by screwing into its base I wonder ? I ask as it would be easier having this lever removed while I hack off the 2 inches. 🙂

Interestingly enough, I also had to do the same on my R-21EC's seat adjusting lever.

RT should really address this issue before some serious damage is done to the Captain. 😉 😱 It's not only dangerous as it is, but the lever can also be easily nudged accidentally with the seat rocketing backwards.

I fixed this this issue today...

Using an adjustable 12" long wrench I secured it to the end of the seat adjustment rod and with the rod clamped securely to the central sliding track the projecting 2" was bent sideways to port by 110º. Easy-peasy and no more flesh stabbing pain.
