Subject: Improving the step leading to V-berth on the 2018 R-27/OB
The step down to the forward berth area is made from starboard with a non slip surface. This surface is not only cold for bare feet but the forward leading edge is kind of sharp and could/can cut the sole of one's foot.
I decided to round the forward leading edge and place/stick some indoor/outdoor carpet on the surface of the step.
BTW... the Double-sided carpet seam tape is VERY sticky. 😀
This photo shows where the step is with the starboard step piece removed and laying forward of the step structure.

The top surface was covered with the indoor/outdoor carpet which I bought from Home Depot (actually they cut a strip 12 feet x 20 inches and sold it to me for $2.34 total). I used Double-sided Carpet Seam Tape to secure the carpet to the starboard step (cost was $5.47). This technique will allow me to replace the carpet easily if and when it becomes dirty or torn up in some way.
