On our Cutwater 28 (2011) the starbd wiper came loose bucking a 25SE off Cape Lazo, now it swipes back and forth 12". Looking under the forward roof cap we see the allen screw that tightens the arm onto the motor shaft; this allen screw is 1/2 covered by a seized plastic cap. How the hell to get at this allen screw? Cut a 2" x 4" section out of the roof cap; and glue it back on later? Remove the roof cap? What do you think?

Just a thought - Can you turn on the wiper and stand at the battery switch and cut the power as soon as the wiper is at an angle where the allen screw is accessible?

Hello,

The easiest way to replace is to turn on the wiper and wait till it sweeps enough to access the bolt, you need to turn off the house battery switch as it will return to park if you just turn off the wiper switch. Also to get the cap off I have used a pick to pry it up, some WD-40 maybe needed. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Hi Kevin, I ended up cutting a hole in the cap, will repair with plastic electrical box cover, gel coated burgundy.
Do you know where there is an Imtra wiper motor schematic to resetting the drive gears?
