Any recommendations out there for a good online water filter for my R-31S?

There are quite a few options on Amazon, so I need advice from someone who has installed a filter on their boat.

Thanks, in advance!

Bought a standard whole house filter housing. 10", clear bowl. GE, or generic, same diff. Clear bowl and a vent air button are the key, the rest is just a place to put the cartridge. Easy to change to different non proprietary filters of different standard types. Last couple of years I used a GE fxwtc cartridge good for chlorine and odor and sediment. Thinking of upgrading to a fxulc cartridge this year, catches more stuff. And they get more exotic as you wish.

A bit tough to find a spot where you can get to it easy and still have enough space to change cartridges, but right after the pump, under the sink, have to remove a cabinet bottom panel to change filter, but works great.

We have an R29 Sedan and use the following to ensure our drinking water is safe:

  • At the beginning of the season, we sanitize the fresh water tank with chlorine.
  • All of our water fill hoses are for drinking water and dedicated only to that task.
  • We use a Camco water filter (latest model) between the water supply and our fill hoses.
  • The water pump has a screen and we keep this clear with monthly inspections.
  • We installed an Acuva ArrowMAX 2.0UV-LED Water Treatment System which has a pre-filter under the sink. Easy to install and compact.

I'm interested in doing the same. Question: did you tie the Acuva into the existing sink faucet or add the second faucet to the sink?

Thanks,
Rob

What is your process using the chlorine to sanitize your system?

Rob:

I added the Smart Faucet which was very easy to do. My logic was that I wanted to treat the drinking water, not the water for washing dishes. I am not even sure you could do the existing sink faucet without affecting water volume.

FYI - I just became aware that Acuva is no longer in business and their technologies have been acquired by Swedish company Watersprint AB.

I don’t have access to my checklist but as I recall, I got the chlorine process off Tugnuts.
