For those Tugnuts who enjoy either decorating their boats or seeing boats decorated, you might enjoy a recent TV segment done on the Portland (OR) Christmas Ships parade. It was filmed during several nights of last year's parade. The show aired this last week on Oregon Public Broadcasting and is now available online. It is nicely done. There are three Ranger Tug boats in it. See if you can spot them.
One is ours, a Ranger Tug 27 (Echo). It is the one with the forward-facing Christmas tree, green rope light running around the deck and cabin roof, red rope lights on the front and rear rails, a small white snowflake on the bow, and on the stern (which there are several shots of) two red hearts on either side of the number 60 (it was the fleet's 60th Christmas ships parade year and everyone tried to have a 60 in lights somewhere on their boat).
Another is also a Ranger Tug 27 (Ody Sea). It has a large side-facing Christmas tree on top, and the word "Joy" on the side cabin. The film crew took a beautiful long side shot of it towards the end of the segment. Finally, there are a few shots of a Ranger Tug 21 that had a side facing scull and cross-bones Santa. You'll know that one when you see it!
The segment is about 8-9 minutes long. Enjoy!
