I just bought a R-25SC built in 2013. I would like to replace the Kenyon stove with a single burner Furrion induction cooktop. Has anyone done that? Any problems?

1500W compared to 1100W. Roughly speaking that’s a little more than 3A extra load on the circuit. Maybe check with the factory as to the wiring. Naturally you are thinking shore power only. The stove will not run off the inverter. It’s an attractive option, relatively inexpensive. How do the cut out dimensions compare?

I had my boat ordered without the stove and cooktop for that reason and use 2 portable small induction units which run on the inverter or a small generator

Just another question that jumped into my mind. Is the induction cooktop so much better than the electric ring in the Kenyon to justify the change and why?

To Chimo: Thanks for the two comments. Regarding power, I think my inverter does 2000W, so the 1500W induction stove might be OK. Regarding the advantages of the induction stove, I think they are: 1) more efficient, 2) faster to heat, 2) safer with a cool top surface 4) better controls including auto timing and shut down, 5) shallower leaving more space below.
These are my hopes. I haven't tried it yet.
