One problem with the drop fins is that even when’s they are aligned with center, as soon they get lowered the alignment is no longer present. If the fins are lowered not synchronized they will cause a steering vectors that needs to be corrected with the rudder

I never experienced that. When the trim tab with modified drop fins are lowered all the way or all the way up they stay on the same line. Straight with the centerline. They don't turn when you lower them. At least the trim tabs on my boat don't.

I installed the tabs while on the trailer but had to cut back the carpeted bunks by 6” to allow clearance. The tabs are lower than the bunks even in full up position so you should be careful the first time you trailer the boat. Some trailers may be OK. Mine would have damaged the tabs had I loaded without this modification. Also check to make sure the boat is tight to the trailer mast at the bow. If it is not you should allow for this distance as well.

I installed the drop tabs last spring and I found that for the first time I was able to over-trim the boat. I have found that my original setup pretty much provided enough trim, but until I was able to over-trim I couldn't tell. With regard to alignment, I think the issue is that the ridges/channels on the bottom of the boat are not perpendicular to the transom where the trim tabs are mounted thus you could only align them at one angle setting and at all other settings the drop fins will not align. I just bolted them to the edges and haven't noticed any issues.
