OK, LENABELL will be 5 years old in Feb 2013. Progressive offered an excellent deal when I bought her (2008 w mechanical Yanmar). It included full replacement at new price for 5 years at only $420/yr. I had to prove I took her out of Florida upon purchase or it would have been $1400/yr. That policy offer ends when boat is 5 years old when I must now obtain an "agreed value" policy. During an early discussion there was also a hint of a survey. Obtaining a survey here in backwoods/Tennessee mountains may not be easy & I am not sure where to start with agreed value. I am also considering looking elsewhere if they make this too much trouble. Are there any others out there that are dealing with this 5 year decision. Whow much value? Better deals out there? Is a survey normally part of insuring a 5 year old boat?
One thing I did learn was that the price for insurance varies significantly (even within same company/policy) depending on where you keep your boat.
