Air conditioning stops, fan and all, about 5 minutes every hour or so - more in high temps. Happens on shore and generator power. After five minutes or so, starts back up without attention. Water flow stops and restarts on its own.

Any idea? Is there a master thermal switch? Thanks . . .

That sounds like a defrost cycle. Just guessing.

I know very little about marine AC but doesn't the reverse cycle kick in so the unit produces a little heat to cause the defrost to occur? Hence if the unit is entirely OFF, it can't have put itself into reverse cycle mode, right?...heck, I don't know...

The fan and circulating pump also go off. ....?....?

We have just purchased a new 31' sedan Ranger Tug from Mark at Wefing. We are loving it and looking forward to some great trips. We also have this same issue with our air conditioner.

Check your settings on the t-stat. They may be set for the defrost cycle. There is a manual for it that explains all the settings and what they do. I can't remember exactly, but I think P-08 is for the defrost mode.
