Internet Extender/Antenna

I am going to be upgrading my hotspot (currently with Verizon). Does anyone have experience with certain models that accept or can connect to antenna's or signal boost equipment? Typically they have no expertise with this in the stores as I experience trying in the past. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I find this discussion viewtopic.php?f=24&t=15917&p=104715&hilit=WIFI+extender#p104715 extremely helpful. In fact, I will try to replicate the same setup as John (Wee Venture), IMHO it's the best with top notch equipment although a bit expensive so I might space it out for admiral's approvals. Going with the equipment list John provided gives you at least several years of upgrade-free operations, no need to update hardware every year or so.
