shopping r-29

ideas?
Greetings all! new guy here. i am currently shopping an r-29. we will be keeping the boat in southeast Alaska. it has been some years since I had the pleasure of cruising there.
I am trying to remember if the r-29 has defrost vents to blow on the windscreen. maybe one of the owners here could answer that for me.
also, as I am actively shopping, i would also appreciate any tips on boats for sale.
thanks in advance. i am looking forward to learning about the rangers from the wealth of knowledge here.
cheers, kris

Our 2012 R29 has fans that blow down onto the windshield from the cabinet above. There is no heat, so they help clear the windshield, but not a lot. We added a 12 volt defroster available at most auto parts stores that attaches with a suction cup or screw mount to the dash board and blows onto the windshield. It works very well when combined with the fans. I don't know about the newer Ranger Tugs, but I believe they are the same.

We love our R29, and having been stationed in Ketchikan with the Coast Guard, I can say I think it is the ideal boat for Southeast Alaska.

thanks brad!

We own the redesigned R29S hull and it does have 2 dash fans that blow upward. There is a "for sale" section on Tugnuts here you should check out for boats for sale. If none show now I'd suggest keeping a frequent look as they do appear on a regular basis.

I have the R29. I just open the side door a few inches with the cabin heat on. The humidity is released and the windows clear. No fan. I did the same thing with the quarter window in my car, back when they had quarter windows!

Cheers, Leon

thanks for the replies. what a great resource!
