Inverter charger out of sync with voltage meter - alarm going off with E02 code

Is there a way to disengage the inverter charger when connected to shore power? We accidentally pulled the plug from shore power but did not turn off the breakers beforehand. Now coming back to the harbor the inverter charger shows higher voltage than then analog voltage meter. How do we get the inverter charger voltage meter back in sync. We have tried turning it off for more than 40 minutes and still get an alarm. If we cannot get these in sync is there something that we can do to insure we do not draining the house batteries?
 
We turned everything off that we possibly could overnight. Refridge, Freezer, etc because we were afraid that the house batteries would drain. Luckily in the morning we tried hooking up to shore power again and the inverter charger was much lower and we were able to hook up without any alarms. cross fingers problem solved
