New to my 2018 C30. I thought the micro was supposed to run on the battery.
My house battery was on, inverter was sort of on...
I pressed the power button on the inverter. The remote display showed the battery voltage for about 15 seconds and then goes off. If you pushed the select button nothing happens. I'd have to press and hold the power button to what appears to be turning it on again. The two knobs to turn on the inverter in the outside storage compartment was also verified to be on.
Batteries are fully charged.
Micro button on the power panel was also on.
However, the microwave never turned on.
On generator last month, it ran the micro and also when I put the boat on my 2000 watt portable generator the micro is on. Unfortunately last month on our maiden voyage, I didn't run the micro on the batteries, just generator.
How do you make the micro run off batteries?
The rotary knob on the power panel is either shore/generator/off. I left it on off straight up.
Am I missing something?

Unfortunately it sounds like you may have a problem with your inverter/charger. The microwave runs off AC through the inverter. If there's shore power or the generator is running (along with the AC switch selecting the source) the inverter/charger goes into bypass mode and passes through the AC power being supplied. If there's no AC then the inverter/charger will pull DC power from the powers to generate AC. If the inverter/charger control panel doesn't show status it sounds like it's not staying powered on. What's the voltage on the house batteries? By the way I just replaced my inverter/charger as it had failed. The DC portion failed first and then a few weeks later the AC bypass also failed. My boat is about 4 years old.

If the 110 plugs are not working along with with microwave then you may have tripped the inverter. There is a reset button on the one end of the inverter that you can check and if tripped reset. As a general rule running a microwave on the house batteries is a large draw and can do as you described. I’ve made it a practice to run the generator when needed the microwave.

Thank Jim. I briefly looked, but didn't see anything. I'll check harder as that sounds logical.

In case you don't have the manual for the inverter the link is below. There's a troubleshooting section on page 14 that may be helpful.

If the status light is green and there's no AC then it's likely the GFCI. Checking another AC outlet is a good idea.

Correction on the status light. I’m on my boat now and was able to check. When shore power is off (i.e. no AC power to the inverter) the status light is orange which indicates Inverter mode (as noted on the display overlay). When shore power is switched back on the status light is green, indicating Charge mode.
