Hi all

When the inverter is on, but Main AC breaker at distribution panel is off, am I supposed to get power at the gallery receptacle?

Can anyone tell me what is normal? Thank you!

A picture of your distribution panel would help. Model of boat too.

Turning on the inverter alone usually won't do it.
Typically there is a rotary switch or something to select the inverter as the input power source as opposed to shore or generator. If the main AC breaker is off I wouldn't think it would distribute AC power anywhere. Again a picture and more information would help.

It'd be helpful to know what make and model boat you have.
Since you said main AC breaker at distribution panel is off, I think you have an outboard powered boat.

Turn on the inverter, and you'll have the main AC breaker with a mechanical interlock. Slide that up and power the main distribution panel from the inverter breaker, next to the main AC breaker. That'll let the inverter power the outlets.

It is a c248. It was found during a survey. My surveyor thinks it is not normal.
