Is shrink wrapping a do it yourself job?

We are new boat owners of a RT27OB. Has anyone shrinkrapped their boats by buying the stuff from West Marine or others?
Is it a simple wrap around or is there more to it? Would it be better entrusting it to our winterizing maintainer? TIA

The heat shrink gun flame is extremely hot, if not done properly you could set your boat on fire or damage the gelcoat.

I just helped a fellow do our R29 boat. He did it last year so the framing was done. He spent about six hours and never stopped moving. He had everything needed to do the job right. Two days later it was hit with a gust that seemed close to 70 mph. and 48 hours of gusts of 30 to 50 mph. He asked for $540. It works and seems like money well spent. It was starting to snow when I left this morning.

Its like anything else! Its not that hard to do. It takes practice.
