I picked up my 2025 R-29CB in November and started a punch list of things to tackle. Way, way down on the list was to figure out why the port side Fusion radio speaker in the galley had no sound. The time had come so when I looked at the speaker I saw that one of the wires was hanging loose. An easy fix I was hoping. Not the problem. An ohm reading told me that the wires going back to the radio were either severely damaged (cut) or were connected to nothing. Ok, pull the radio out. It is a very nice unit by the way, a Fusion Appollo MS -RA770. After removing the four holding screws I attempted to pull the unit out. It would barely move. It took a lot of wiggling (It was really hanging up) but it finally came out. Wow! I had no idea there was that much stuff in that small little space. I waded through the rats’ nest and finally found what I was looking for. The Fusion wiring harness is very well marked and it was easy to identify the two wires that went to that speaker, they were lying loose because they were too short to reach the radio. Unfortunately, it’s not a matter of just lengthening them and reattaching to the existing harness because once removed from the harness, they cannot be reinserted into same. A whole new harness had to be ordered and all 12 connections had to be redone. I also noticed that the antenna for the radio was tightly coiled and trussed up. (We never could get AM) I stretched it out and also took the opportunity to run a USB cord (included with radio) and an optical cable through a ¾” hole that I drilled in the back corner above the shelves. I also hooked up some RCA cables to the one of the two Aux inputs. Now, radio reception is crystal clear, we can use the Aux, Optical and USB inputs and oh ya, all the speakers work now!
