We made our last trip of the season last week and today I winterized the boat  It's that time of year up here when we can dip below freezing overnight any time now. So had to get it done...

I'd say that I envy all of you guys who live in warmer climates. But I'd be lying 😉

Hi Dan: I would have no idea what it is like to live in such cold conditions. I cannot imagine having to 'winterise' my vessel. The only thing that stops me launching my vessel is the winter wind and swell which ocasionally prevails here in south-Western Australia. We gnerally lauch all year round, except for wind and swell. No such thing as 'freeze' here, thank God. We do get occasional sleet here in the southern areas of Western Australia, and of cousre we get really good snow in the south-eastern States, but generally, snow is what 'other people' get. I remember seeing snow once, in Japan many years ago when I was up there in the Navy. Oh, well, happy days. Kind regards

It does make one appreciate a warm, sunny day. We're headed down under for three weeks in November/December to enjoy some warmer weather. But we'll be on the opposite coast from you.

Head south young man, head south. Rather than winterize the boat we winterize the house. 😀
I'm now unemployed(for good) and will be heading south in future years. Though may not drag the boat with us. I've boated all the US coasts and after Alaska I just can't imagine getting excited about anywhere else. Maybe the great lakes though obviously not in winter.

Don't cut yourself short. Every area has a different aspect of beauty. There is nothing like being on the Hudson River in New York at night.
