We wandered the great hall and then the docks of the Seattle Boat Show admiring all of the beautiful vessels and accessories on display. We picked up an item here and an item there.
We went aboard a number of vessels strictly out of curiousity as well as a few that were just attractive to look at. Then on Sunday morning, we spotted one in paticular that caught our eye.
The Helmsman Pilothouse 38.
As of today, she shall be known as "Destiny". For we believe we have at last, found our "Destiny".
She has all of the features that we have been longing for. Additional space to move about as well as storage galore. While she did not have a second stateroom for the rare overnight guest, she does have an accomdation that will work. And, there is the elusive sofa that I have so badly wanted. And Not just one sofa, but three! One in the main saloon, one in the pilothouse, and a third on the fly bridge.
We will take delivery of her at 10:00 am on Thursday the 29th. She will temporarily be moored at the ShilsholeI Marina until a spot opens for her at Stimsons Marina.
While we had planned to take Karma to Campbell River for the summer, as with our floating "home", our travel plans have also changed. We will cruise Puget Sound as well as make a trip to Desolation Sound and another to the Gulf Islands.
While we will miss being a part of the Ranger Tug Family, we will still be a part of the Puget Sound boating community.
A special thanks goes to Bruce Moore for coming up with the name for our new "home". Over Breakfast one recent Sunday morning, we expressed our dillema of coming up with a new name. He simply came up with "You started with Solitude for your desire of the solitary anchorage. Karma was named through the sequence of events that lead you to her and now, you have reached your destination, she should be simply known as "Destiny".
We would also like to thank the entire staff at Fluid Motions. For if it were not for them, we would possibly never have discovered boating on Puget Sound. Through all of their support they have brought joy to a great number of others as well as ourselves. There is not another boat builder that can claim to have started a "cult" of "Tugnuts".

See you on the water,
