As of 1130 am today Kathy and I are officially the owners of a brandy new R-23, Sea Holli! We made our purchase from The Pocket Yachts Company, Grasonville, MD. John and Tim did a great job! We had the Way too windy, rough seas. sea trial and orientation this morning. Then signed the papers. I'll be keeping Sea Holli at Pocket Yachts for the winter. I just don't have any place to park her just now. I know this winter is just gonna drag by forever...
Does anyone know the diameter of the portholes in the main cabin? I measured just about everything else, but not the portholes.
Thanks,
Tony N Kathy

Welcome.... Congratulations..... well done.... you are going to have fun for sure. 😀

I'll measure the portholes on our R-27/OB. I'm sure they are standard sizes across the RT models. I have made translucent plugs for them for privacy at nighttime. So I can just measure the diameter of the plugs I made.

Welcome to the Ranger Tug family! From one newbie to another 🙂
I feel your pain in waiting for spring. We got our boat at the very end of August, and got out one weekend before the temperatures dropped and we had to put her away for the winter; and its a long winter here.
Looking at the bright side, buying any other boat could have required years of project work. With the Ranger Tug, I can do minor tweaks over the winter, and she is very cruise-ready for spring!
Happy tugging!

BTW... how did you like the ride under those conditions ?

Welcome to the Tugnuts community of boaters, you're in for some fun times and spring will be here before you know it.

Welcome to Tug-ville. We bought our R23 last Thanksgiving and used it all winter! I picked up a small ceramic heater and only had to use it a couple of times. Living in Charleston, SC we have good days all year. The only issue we have had with temperature was a summer visit to a marina when we turned the AC down too low and woke up at 2AM freezing! Pushing 200 hours in 11 months. Hope you like yours as much as we love ours. 😀

We didn't go far, nor fast. We just puttered around the Kent Narrows. We did get some spray over the bow, enough to discover the wipers really suck. I really couldn't tell we were in a chop, a very smooth ride.

Congrats and Welcome Tony and Kathy! I’ve bought two boats from Pockey Yachts and each time the experience was excellent. You’ve made an excellent choice and I wish you many hours of happy boating.

You’re exactly right about the wipers. That’s why god created RainX. Also, playing with the trim can help keep down the over-the-bow deluge. At least a lil’ bit.

Congratulations....we also just bought a boat (R29 CB) from Pocket Yachts. We had a great experience with the entire Pocket Yachts team throughout the process and we are now hoping to get a couple of weeks of use in before we put her away for the winter. Spring can’t come soon enough.

Were you there last weekend? There was a couple with John on a Tug tied up in the corner by the Hilton Garden Inn, I was wondering if that was you.
