We have towed a jet ski behind our cruiser on lake Powell for many years. Great tool for having fun and investigating new canyons and secluded anchorages.
Down side was towing it around behind a fast cruiser. Did impact the fuel consumption numbers. We cruise at much slower speeds with the CW28 so might be easier on the fuel consumption.

We now own a new,(2017)CW 28 and last summer cruised southern shore of Lk. Superior and northern Lk. Michigan. Really missed that jet ski for the very reasons mentioned above. We did take an inflatable dinghy with a 2.3 HP outboard. not a lot of fun and didn't compare to exploring on the fast moving jetski.

I know a lot of cruisers hate to see a jet ski coming around the bend, but they sure can click off the miles.
Anyone elected to use a jetski as their dingy choice, and if so how has that worked?

We will be doing the North Channel this summer along with the Georgian Bay's 30,000 islands area.

I am seriously thinking of taking that jet ski!

If you don't mind me asking, up to what speed did you tow it, and did you close off any intakes/exhausts to prevent water entering the engine? I've been wanting to tow mine, but was advised by Sea Doo against it, unless I could clamp off my exhaust hose. Sea Doo said I could tow it only up to 6mph.

Towed 3 different PWC for at least 15 years and never closed off anything. Ran 20-25 MPH.....Never had any issues. Maybe I was just lucky!

Good news. Thanks.

Look on Magic Marine site. They sell a tow device there. While it looks like a good alternative the price is way out of line. I imagine it costs about $350 in materials. If they sold it for $749 it would be something to think about. $2,300. is not even close to reasonable. Wait for price to come down.

seriously where was this piece of kit before I started looking at getting an inflatable!??

with a SPARK jetski at $5k why wouldnt you do this!

The parts look super easy to make especially if you have access to a CNC shop...

Don't take your jetski to the San Juan Islands - they outlawed their use in that county years ago.

Good tip! - although a ridiculous law.

I wanted to do this as well, had a great old seadoo that didn’t use and was going to try

Ending up selling the ski, but think it would have worked as a great dingy
