We have two 15 foot Eddyline Kayaks that weigh about 40lbs each. We are planning to use cell foam block rack pads and then securing the kayaks to the racks using tie-down straps. We were wondering what other Tug owners have used to carry their kayaks and ideas for the easiest method of loading and unloading the kayaks from the boat rails.
We likewise use a Yakima carrier on our sports rack. We had to use self-fusing tape to increase the 1" rail diameter to make carrier clamp snug... works great! We went with the "Jaylow" model that allows carrier bars to lay flat when not used. Here's a link:
