Hello all,
I was If anyone has mounted a kayak in the back. The roof seems like a real pain in the patoot to load and unload except for longer trips. I would like to hook a kayak on to the swim rail for easy mounting and dismounting. I don’t have a dingy at this point.

I purchased a set of these this winter for use with two inflatable SUPs.

MAGMA R1062620 RAIL MOUNTED KAYAK / SUP RACK WIDE 20"

I put the mounts on the port side bow rails 7 ft apart. I don’t think this location would work in heavy seas. In our case, I can always deflate the SUPs in heavy weather.

Since you don’t have a dinghy, you might be able to mount port to starboard on the stern railing with the kayak ends sticking out each side. Depending on the length of your kayak that may or may not be an issue.

We have these, as well as a set of the SUP racks. Have carried our Sea Eagle inflatable kayak, and a SUP. Only issues with the rack is that the gray canvas cover did not hold up well in the Florida sun, so I removed the covers completely.

It’s a 10 footer. So one foot overhang on each side. Not bad. I will try stern mounting. I think the magmas are just what I was looking for. And I thought they just made grills.
Thanks!
